To accommodate projected growth of up to 100,000 children in the community during the next decade, Carolinas Medical Center will open Levine Children’s Hospital – a 12-story, 234-bed facility that will be second to none. Designed with family-centered care as a top priority, it will be one of the three largest children’s hospitals in the Southeast and the largest facility between Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia.

Scheduled to open in October of this year, Levine Children’s Hospital will offer several of the region’s “firsts,” such as the first day hospital, cardiac intensive care unit, and 24-hour pediatric emergency department. The new children’s hospital will also include patient rooms with extra beds for parents who wish to stay overnight with their children, a children’s diagnostic center, and a 13-bed rehabilitation pavilion.

Levine Children’s Hospital will be a place of wonder and imagination that will attract the brightest medical talent and offer the most advanced pediatric care available. Nothing will even come close.
